Welcome to Part 3 of the Ridglea North Virtual Garden Tour Series, where we feature videos and pictures of our original in-person garden tour event participants, as well as contributions from other Ridglea North neighbors. Featured: Susan's Shaded Courtyard

Our backyard at our home in the 6400 block of Curzon is made more manageable by the addition of a wooden fence that creates a “courtyard” of sorts close to the house, and an open grassy area at the back of the property. The addition of decking, flagstone walkways and small patio, and a covered pavilion provide areas for seating and shelter from harsh Texas weather.

Container plantings are designed for shade, much of which is provided by a large crepe myrtle and several mature photinias trimmed to grow as trees with high canopies. ~ Susan
