Be on the Lookout

In the last few weeks a group of five, sometimes up to eight black and Hispanic boys and one Hispanic girl in hoodies have been found hanging out in the alley behind the 6400 block of Kenwick.  The same group is under investigation for other activities.  On two such occasions they have been confronted only to run away jumping in various yards to escape further confrontation.  They have been identified as students attending the Monnig Middle school by vice-principal Mrs. Ward.

Please contact FW Police Officer Hadid or FW Police Officer Partain if you see them hanging around.  The officers have asked the neighborhood to reference report #230029416 so a complete picture of ALL the goings on can be concentrated in one report as a detective has been assigned to the case.

Save the Date: Movie in the Park

Saturday, June 3

Grab a chair or blanket and head to Berney Park for a movie night! Look for an email in the coming weeks with a voting link to help us select our next movie. Interested in helping with the event? Contact RNNA President Stephanie Muzi at muzi_s1996@comcast.net

Community Committee for

Mary Louise Phillips & William Monnig Schools

There are a few upcoming community service opportunities that will benefit Ridglea North's neighborhood schools: Mary Louise Phillips Elementary and William Monnig Middle School. In June, a new playground will be built and volunteers are needed. Just last week, there was a beautification community service day where volunteers planted Asian Jasmine at the front of MLP.

There is still so much that can be done to improve the lives of the students who attend these school and the teachers and administrators who devote their time and hearts. Please contact Christina Ewin at christinaewin@gmail.com if you're interested in joining the RNNA Community School Committee so that our schools receive as much love and attention as our neighborhood does!

This week the RNNA Board voted to donate a Taco Bar Luncheon for Teacher Appreciation week. RNNA supports our neighborhood schools and we would love to see more community involvement!

There are so many ways you can get involved! Join this committee, sign up for community service (like the playground build in June), or even donate! Every effort, both large and small, are immensely appreciated and make a tremendous difference in the lives of these students and teachers. Children are our future and teachers shape them. Anything and everything we do to make their lives better benefits us all!

The picture above is "before" and the picture to the right is "after." The front bed has been tilled and filled with Asian jasmine. We can't wait to see it grow!

THANK YOU!

A huge thank you to Jeff Jerousek, owner of the ACE Hardware on Camp Bowie Blvd, for donating leaf bags to the MLP beautification efforts on April 29th. Please give Jeff a hearty hello and thank you next time you're in ACE!

Thank you to the Glaser family, Pedro and Audrey, for donating a laminator that MLP had at the top of their wish list! This is a significant donation for the teachers of MLP!

A Look Back at Rock the Park

On Saturday, April 1st, RNNA held our first annual Rock the Park party at Berney Park! It was a huge hit in the neighborhood! Kona Ice and Gepetto's Pizza truck provided amazing treats. Kids were treated to an egg-spoon and sack races, tug-of-war, and hula hoop contests, with prizes.  Sign up sheets for small groups and clubs, such as Game Night Club and Wine Night Club, were available. And it was a gorgeous day! It was a pleasure getting to know so many of our neighbors! Councilman Michael Crain came out to visit as well as FWISD Board Member CJ Evans. Many thanks to all who showed up and enjoyed this beautiful day!

Please submit photos our YOUR Rock the Block parties to this link!

Food Truck Summer Series

Due to MayFest, our first food trucks will arrive on May 19th, not May 5th. They'll arrive in the neighborhood at 6pm and will stay for two hours. May 19th will feature Frios Gourmet Pops  and La Bandida Street Food. Please come out and give them a warm RNNA welcome!

Yard of the Month!

The Ridgle North Neighborhood Garden Committee has chosen 6212 Kenwick as Yard of the Month for May.

Patrick and Traci Johnson have lived at this address for 20 years. Patrick enjoys doing all of the yard work.

A winding path leads from the street to a welcoming front porch. The flower beds are filled with a combination of Indian Hawthornes and colorful annuals.

Congratulations Patrick and Traci!

VP in a MAG

Leanna Johnson, VP of Association Affairs, was recently on the cover of the Neighbors of Westover Hills magazine! Her work as the VP of Ridglea North Neighborhood Association received a mention. If you can find a copy, read about Leanna's family, pets, and business, Cookie Crumbelievable! Congrats Leanna!
