Save the Date: Movie in the Park

Saturday, June 4

Grab a chair or blanket and head to Berney Park for a movie night! Look for an email in the coming weeks with a voting link to help us select our next movie. Interested in helping with the event? Contact RNNA President Tyler Wright.

Yard of the Month

The May yard of the month is 6116 Locke. Lewis and Shelly Knapp moved to Locke in June 2020 and in a short time have surrounded the home with beautiful landscaping. The front flower beds are a mix of tightly pruned boxwoods, a variety of perennials and a burst of red and white annuals. The guest house flower beds are filled with red and white perennials. Thank you Lewis and Shelly! Contact Yard of the Month Chair Maura Needham if you would like to make a nomination for Yard of the Month.

A Look Back at our Berney Park Workday

Ridglea North neighbors gathered in Berney Park on Saturday, April 16 to weed flowerbeds and work on general cleanup of the park. Look for more workdays throughout the year. Contact Park & Green Spaces VP Weber Massengale with questions or to get involved.

Ridglea North Neighbors Rocked the Block in April

We challenged neighbors to host a block party during the month of April. Didn't have time to pull together a party? It's not too late to Rock the Block with your neighbors! Send us pictures of your block party anytime this year and we'll feature you in our newsletter.

6400 Block of Drury Lane

Neighbors on the 6400 block of Drury Lane Rocked the Block with a Friday evening happy hour in the driveway.

6500 Block of Locke Avenue

The 6500 block of Locke Avenue had a backyard crawfish boil block party on April 24 hosted by Josh and Chelsi Cottle and next door neighbors Kat and Clay Hooper. They had about twenty-three attendees of neighbors, seventy-five pounds of crawfish, and even played cornhole!

Neighbor Spotlight: Bill Bradford

1) Tell us about yourself and your familyChristina and I (Bill) moved here in the fall after living in Southern California for the past 16 years. We both grew up in Connecticut and then have lived in Germany during my time in the military, Virginia, California, and now Fort Worth. We have four children - Katarina (25), Ava (21), Christopher (17), and Annelise (12). Katarina also moved here to Fort Worth and lives over in West 7th, Ava is in college in North Carolina, and Christopher and Annelise go to school here in Fort Worth. We moved here to be close to our dear friends Lewis and Shelly Knapp (who we met in Germany 28 years ago), who live on Locke Avenue here in Ridglea.

2) How long have you lived in Ridglea North? We moved here at the end of September 2021.

3) What’s your favorite neighborhood activity or event? We haven't been here long enough to have experienced any of the neighborhood activities/events, but we do love meeting new people, sharing a glass of wine, and getting to know their stories.

4) What’s your favorite thing to do in Fort Worth? Our favorite thing to do here in Fort Worth is go for a walk along the Trinity and eat Heim BBQ.

5) What’s your best advice on being a good neighbor?  Being a good neighbor means valuing the person next door as well as the stranger, being willing to open up your life to them and be there in good times and in bad.
