Neighbor Spotlight: Becky Martin

1) Tells us about yourself and your family. Hi neighbors! I am Becky Martin and a lot of you may recognize me as the petite woman who walks two big dogs around the neighborhood. I have an old German Shepard who goes for very short walks and a younger pit/boxer mix who loves to go for walks, visit the shops on Camp Bowie and meet all the dogs and people. She is one social dog.

2) How long have you lived in Ridglea North? I moved to Ridglea North in May 2018 after living in California for 20 years. I moved back to TX to be closer to family and picked Fort Worth because it is the perfect size, in my opinion. It has all of the culture, food, events and activities of a large city without being overwhelming.

3) What’s your favorite neighborhood activity or event? I love that the neighborhood has numerous activities. If I have to pick just one I will say the 5K run. That's a great event and fun way to meet people.

4) What’s your favorite thing to do in Fort Worth? To be honest, I feel like I'm still learning all of the things Fort Worth has to offer so I don't have one particular favorite thing. I like running down near the Trinity River, going to events at Bass Hall and summer concerts at the Botanic garden, trying different restaurants and looking for new places to hike and explore.

5) What’s your best advice on being a good neighbor? My best advice is to be friendly, introduce yourself, and check on the folks around you (especially during this challenging time). You never know what a positive impact you may have on someone's day just by smiling and saying "hi" to them.
