Out and About

Martha Wells is part of the First Responder Appreciation group. Recently, while at The Meat Board (neighborhood business sponsor!) to buy a gift card for Bel Haddad, our neighborhood NPO, who just happened to be there! Bel said that RNNA is the only neighborhood in the West division that gives treats to the police for First Responder Appreciation and he always shares his treats with the other FWPD West division officers. Thank you, Martha, for sharing this story with us and for showing our appreciation!

A Look Ahead

April is Rock the Block month, which the RNNA wants to kick off with the First Annual Rock the Park in Berney Park on April 1st! We ARE looking for volunteers to help with planning, advertising, set-up, and take down. So please contact us to kick off the month with a great event!

Neighbor Spotlight:  Henry & Carolyn Dollahite

  • Tell us about yourself and your family.

My husband, Henry, and I live with our kiddos, Cormac (10) and Serena (8).  We also have a big black lab, Frisco, and a mischievous cat, Fiddler. Henry and I are both originally from Fort Worth, and were excited to move back home after being gone for several years living in Dallas, Dublin, Ireland, and Tennessee.  Henry is a doctor at Harris Methodist Downtown, and I am a CPA but am currently a stay at home mom. I also just joined the RNNA Board as Treasurer.

  • How long have you lived in Ridglea North?

I grew up coming to Ridglea North all the time because my Mom’s best friend lived on Curzon.  I have always loved the walkability of the neighborhood to restaurants and shops, so we were thrilled to find a home in the neighborhood when we moved back in 2017.

  • What’s your favorite neighborhood activity or event?

I love watching the July 4th parade from our front yard with the kids.  It always sparks such a wonderful neighborhood Americana feel in my heart.  We also enjoy participating in the Turkey Trot every year, and cheering on the 10k runners that run by our house.

  • What your favorite thing to do in Fort Worth?

Henry and I love trying out new restaurants.  There always seems to be a new one opening that we haven’t tried.  We also got into tennis during COVID, so we love going to parks and playing a few rounds of tennis as a family.

  • What’s your best advice on being a good neighbor?

A smile, a wave, and a nice hello go a long way.  Friendliness should never be underestimated.
