A look back at the Ridglea North July 4th Parade

Our July 4th Parade was a success! Thank you to our neighbors - those who drove in the caravan and those who gave a friendly wave from their yards, our event volunteers, the generous Neighborhood Police Officers who helped keep the procession safe and on track, our neighborhood businesses and Fire Station #16. A very special thank you goes out to parade organizer Renee Mitcham. We were fortunate to have Ridglea Hills neighbor Rick Irving surprise us by taking photos of the event. West Nile Virus Spraying

The city is continuing to trap and test mosquitoes for West Nile Virus. A number of mosquitoes have tested positive for West Nile Virus in our area. In conjunction with partners at the University of North Texas Health Science Center, the city has decided to target ground spray to kill the disease-carrying mosquitoes.

Neighbor Spotlight: Tyler Wright

1) Tell us about yourself and your family. My husband Dane and I both grew up in small Texas towns. We met at Texas A&M University (whoop!), got married right after graduating, and moved to Fort Worth a few years later. He is an Industrial Engine Account Manager for Cummins. I am a CPA by trade, but my current gig is stay-at-home mom to our twin girls Audrey and Juliette, who will be starting kindergarten this year.

2) How long have you lived in Ridglea North? Ten years in two different houses on the same street...long story.

3) What’s your favorite neighborhood activity or event? It's hard to pick one! Probably Cocoa and Caroling. It is such a sweet little event.

4) What’s your favorite thing to do in Fort Worth? Fort Worth Zoo and the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History are some of our favorites. We also love having dinner on the patio at Joe T's when the weather is nice.

5) What’s your best advice on being a good neighbor? Spend some time at Berney Park. It's an easy way to meet and get to know neighbors.
