Congratulations to April's Yard of the Month! The Ridglea North Neighborhood Association Garden Committee chose Don and Elaine Stogdill's home at 6309 Malvey Avenue as April's Yard of the Month! Don and Elaine have lived here for 60 years, and they both love to work in their yard. The flower beds are filled with holly bushes, azaleas, a flowering dogwood, and 225 tulips Don planted for this year. Pots of colorful flowers flank the home entrance. Despite damage from the winter freeze, the yard is outstanding!

CRIME UPDATE
From Hunter Johnson, VP of Public Safety:
There have been a few incidents in the area recently and I think it's time we all tighten up again. Please do not leave any valuables in your car (laptops, purses, phones, etc.) and keep the car locked overnight. Ensure flood lights and cameras (if you have them) are working properly. If you can automate any interior and exterior lights, please take advantage of those options. Make sure to lock all doors and windows. Essentially, don't give criminal any target of opportunity.
If you see something, say something.
- First and foremost, call the police. If it is an emergency, call 911. If not, you may call the non-emergency line, (817) 392-4222.
- Second, call your neighbors and let them know what's going on.
- Finally, let your NPO, Bel Haddad, or me know and please include any police report number if possible. Bel Haddad's email and phone are bel.haddad@fortworthtexas.gov and 817-392-4700. My email is hunterbjohnson@gmail.com and my phone number is 817-313-5039.
Stay safe!

- Tell us about yourself and your family.
- I have lived in Fort Worth since 2019 and specifically Ridglea North since 2020. I am originally from Nashville, Tennessee and then studied Aerospace Engineering at Texas A&M. While in school, I interned with Bell Flight which led me to working there full time starting in 2019. I am not married, and I currently live with my dog Orville and one of my best friends. I have been the RNNA Parks and Greenspace director for a year now and love working to beautify the neighborhood. I am also currently pursuing a professional MBA from UTA.
- How long have you lived in Ridglea North?
- I bought my house in 2020 and have been here ever since.
- What’s your favorite neighborhood activity or event?
- My favorite activity is organizing neighborhood/park beautification days and events such as replacing trees in the park and cleaning up the landscaping beds (an ongoing effort). I also love running around the neighborhood since we have beautiful neighborhood streets.
- What your favorite thing to do in Fort Worth?
- Fort Worth has such a unique culture that is so fun to take advantage of. Some of my favorite things are dancing in the Stockyards, running along the Trinity, playing pickleball at Courtside, and taking my boat out on the lakes around the area.
- What’s your best advice on being a good neighbor?
- The best thing you can do as a neighbor is just to say hi whenever possible - whether that be walking your dog, taking out your garbage cans on Tuesday evening, or by going out of your way to welcome new neighbors to Ridglea North. Ridglea is such a fun place to live because of how friendly everyone is.
