Rock the Block

April (all month)

Rock the Block is back! RNNA is challenging each block in Ridglea North to accept our "Rock the Block" challenge. We're asking you to plan a get-together with your neighbors. You can keep things simple with coffee and donuts in the driveway or go all out with a potluck dinner or cocktail party. The sky's the limit! Send us pictures of your party and we'll feature your block in our next newsletter.

Ridglea North Garden Tour

Postponed to 2023

The Garden Tour committee has made the difficult decision to postpone the 2022 Ridglea North Garden Tour, originally scheduled for May 7, to 2023. This will give the neighborhood gardens plenty of time to recover from the big freeze in 2021 as well as the smaller freeze this year. The committee will start planning this fall to make the tour in 2023 amazing, so be on the lookout for future communications about it! Contact Garden Tour Chair Weber Massengale with any questions or if you are interested in having your garden on tour in 2023.

Thank You, Cowtown Cleanup volunteers!

On Saturday, March 26, Ridglea North neighbors gathered in Berney Park and then spent the morning picking up litter throughout the neighborhood. Big thanks to these neighbors for going the extra mile to keep Ridglea North beautiful!

Yard of the Month

The April Yard of the Month goes to Kris Jones at 6425 Malvey Ave. When Kris moved to this house three years ago she started transforming the front flower beds. She removed the overgrown shrubs and replaced them with colorful shrubs and flowers, creating a beautiful English country garden look. Contact Yard of the Month Chair Maura Needham if you would like to make a nomination for Yard of the Month.

Neighbor Spotlight: Trish Billings

1) Tell us about yourself and your familyWe are Scott and Trish Billings. We are empty nesters and the parents of three daughters who live in Boston, New York and Nashville - all great places to visit! We recently moved from Northwest Houston where we lived and raised our children for over 20 years. Scott is an attorney with a large corporation and I work remotely for a law firm in Houston.

2) How long have you lived in Ridglea North? We moved to Ridglea North at the end of October, 2021.

3) What’s your favorite neighborhood activity or event? We love walking our dog every afternoon and seeing all the activity at Berney Park. My sister lives very close so I enjoy walking with her and seeing all the dog walking activity in the neighborhood. It is also nice to be able to walk to the nearby shopping centers.

4) What’s your favorite thing to do in Fort Worth? Since we just moved here there are too many to mention! We are enjoying exploring our new hometown. The Trinity Trails are amazing, we have enjoyed taking our visitors to the Stockyards and checking out new restaurants.

5) What’s your best advice on being a good neighbor? Be friendly! A simple wave and a smile goes a long way.
